TRICK SKI-DUOS

Two trick skis. Two people. One mission: make the crowd lose their minds.

Teams of two hit the water with their most progressive and entertaining passes. Bonus points for synchronized stoke and unplanned wipeouts.

Format

  • Teams of two compete in a one-round final.

  • Unlike traditional trick ski contests, there will be no objective scoring system -- each team will be subjectively judged based on the judging criteria listed to the right.

Rules

  • Each team MUST recognize or salute the crowd off the dock.

  • Each team will have two full passes and one trick back to shore. Creative dock starts will earn extra points.

  • Judging begins at a specified start buoy (first pass) or the main dock (second pass).

  • Passes can be completed on any apparatus or discipline (e.g., trick ski, wake skate, disc, etc.) and in any order.

  • Two falls per team (not per person) are allowed with only one pickup. Skiers must swim into shore after the team’s second fall.

  • No points will be given for attempted tricks that result in a fall.

  • Skiers will be pulled behind an event sponsored boat.

  • Teams can use the boat tower or low pylon.

  • Skiers must wear some form of floatation in order to compete.

Judging Criteria

  • CREATIVITY - The judges will be looking for innovative tricks that captivate the audience and set them apart from other competitors.

  • FLOW - Sequencing your passes in a way that is both visually appealing and showcases skill and control will earn you more points.

  • DIFFICULTY - The more challenging the trick or sequence executed, the higher the score.

  • AUTHENTICITY & STOKE - We hope you’re having fun out there! Judges will score this category subjectively based on the execution of tricks with precision and personal style, as well as energy and crowd engagement.

Awards

  • The First place team will each receive an exclusive TL CornFest Champions jackets.

  • All Top 3 rankings will receive medals + Lake Lovers Club prize packs.
