KING OF
SHOES
A group of talented shoe skiers compete in the name of shoe ski royalty by performing a variety of personal style, spins and flips for a chance to claim the King of Shoes crown.
Format
Skiers will compete in a single round super-final competition to earn their way to shoe ski royalty.
Judging is based on the technical difficulty, execution, smoothness and overall performance flow. While we love the energy of Turkey Shoe Out, a dock skit is not required, but could put you in the running for an overall TL CornFest award, like Most Iconic Moment and Best Dressed.
Rules
Skiers MUST recognize or salute the crowd off the dock.
Each skier is allowed two passes and one trick back to shore. Creative dock starts will earn extra points.
Judging begins at a specified start buoy (first pass) or the main dock (second pass).
Two falls are allowed with only one pickup. Skier must swim into shore after their second fall.
No points will be given for attempted tricks that result in a fall.
Skiers will be pulled behind an event sponsored boat.
Skiers can use the boat tower or low pylon.
Skiers must wear some form of floatation in order to compete.
Judging Criteria
UNIQUENESS OF TRICKS & EXECUTION - Judges will be looking for a variety of personal style, spins and flips. Tricks that are executed with control and precision will be scored higher than those with wobbly landings.
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY - The more challenging the trick or sequence executed, the higher the score.
OVERALL FLOW - Sequencing your passes in a way that is both visually appealing and showcases skill and control will earn you more points.
AUTHENTICITY & STOKE - We hope you’re having fun out there! Judges will score this category subjectively based on the execution of tricks with precision and personal style, as well as energy and crowd engagement.
Awards
First place will receive a coveted “King of Shoes” Crown and an exclusive TL CornFest Champions jackets.
All Top 3 rankings will receive medals + Lake Lovers Club prize packs.
